HOW TO: Stop Nivo Slider on one play and stay at final slide

I’ve found the Nivo Slider jQuery slideshow to be one of the nicest. It’s very configurable, and is one of those just works kind of widgets (that is of course unless you are looking at it in IE 6.) Recently, a client wanted the slideshow to stop after one play and then rest on the [...]

Blackbird Pie – embed tweets in a post super easily

Using Blackbird Pie, you can insert tweets into a post on any blog. It’s effortless and a lot nicer than the old-fashioned way which consisted of screenshots and embedded images. If for no other reason, the SEO impact could be rad, because the text is now on YOUR blog, not just Twitter. I thought that [...]

Yesterday I received this tweet: I clicked on it and couldn't bring myself to install Silverlight on my Mac. Boooo. This morning, however, I realized I could install it in Parallels and that would be fine (which is a bit of a rationalization, but whatever.) What I found was pretty amazing. Bing Twitter Maps. I [...]

Plushie toy modeler

Since I saw the Plushie Interactive Design System for Plush Toys website over a year ago I have had many discussions about with artists and designers who I think would benefit from using such an amazing tool. This is a lazyman's 3D modeler designed specifically with the intention of generating 2D patterns. It let's you [...]

Bookmarklets increase your browser power without plugins – what I use

First, if you don't know what a bookmarklet is, it looks like a standard bookmark, but uses a chunk of javascript code to make the browser do something with a lot more capacity than simply redirecting you to a new webpage. As an example, try clicking this: Share on Facebook If you're logged into Facebook, you get [...]
